About the Role

This is a senior Public Health leadership role within Derbyshire County Council, responsible for supporting the delivery of the statutory Public Health function, with a specific focus on work, health and inclusive employment.

The postholder will operate at a system level, bridging the gap between strategy, leadership and implementation to ensure effective delivery of programmes that improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities. You will lead a portfolio of work that positions employment as a key determinant of health, driving forward inclusive recruitment and healthy workplace practices across Derbyshire.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership for:

  • Disability Employer Engagement Derbyshire
  • Inclusive recruitment agenda
  • Youth Guarantee Trailblazer
  • Healthy Workplaces Derbyshire
  • Wider work and health priorities

Working closely with the Public Health Lead, you will ensure programmes are safe, effective, evidence-based and aligned to local and national public health priorities, providing assurance to senior leadership, including the Director of Public Health.
