Derbyshire County Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications)(No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the following non-compliances and exemptions listed.
Non-accessible content
The following content types are non-accessible for these reasons:
- some of our videos are not captioned, or may rely on auto-generated captions and may not be completely accurate – WCAG 1.2.2
- some of our images do not have text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. We are working to add text alternatives to all our images and for any new content we'll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards – WCAG 1.1.1
- some of our technical or legislative PDFs are not fully accessible as well as PDFs provided by third party organisations
Disproportionate burden
We do not believe there is any content on this site for which we need to claim a disproportionate burden.
Content that's not within scope of the accessibility regulations
Videos
Some of our older videos lack captions and do not meet accessibility standards. The accessibility regulations do not require us to add captions to videos produced before 23 September 2020 if they're not essential to providing our services. Any new videos we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
External links
This website links to third-party, external websites or services that may not be fully accessible.
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they're not essential to providing our services. We endeavour to ensure any new PDFs or Word documents meet accessibility standards. Where this has not been possible due to timescales of publication you can contact us to request a more accessible version
