South Derbyshire District Council are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead our Democratic and Electoral Services.
You’ll manage a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, legally compliant elections and democratic support, ensuring the smooth running of Council meetings and the integrity of our decision-making processes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the Council’s Democratic Services Unit and Committee Management System.
- Oversee all aspects of elections and electoral registration, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Promote democratic engagement and voter participation.
- Provide expert advice to Members, senior officers, candidates, and the public.
- Support the Monitoring Officer and Deputy Monitoring Officer.
About You
You’ll have:
- Proven experience in elections, electoral registration, or democratic services.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of electoral and democratic legislation.
- A commitment to high standards, continuous improvement, and public service.
