Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our supportive team. You will work with a range of children including those who have additional needs. It is essential that candidates have a good general education, are literate and numerate and are able to communicate well orally and in writing. The successful candidate would be expected to Act-up in the absence of the class teacher (renumerated accordingly).

You will be based at one of our three sites: Peak Forest CE Primary School, Great Hucklow CE Primary School or Stoney Middleton CE Primary School, dependent on the successful applicant.

Successful candidates are required to hold a Teaching and Learning Assistants Level 3 qualification or above. 

The start date is September 2025. 

We are looking for a member of staff who is well organised, enjoys working with children, who is able to challenge, motivate and care for each pupil as an individual and foster independence. Good communication skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team are essential for this role. Experience of working with children with ASD and ADHD is desirable, as is experience of working with parents.

Experience across KS1 and KS2 is desirable but not essential.
