An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at our Shipley Country Park shop and visitor centre. Weekly hours are 19.5, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9.45am to 4.15pm.
What will I be doing :
You will support the operation of the Visitor Centre during the prescribed hours, selling items and providing information and advice to countryside visitors, promoting a positive image of the council and customer care.
What skills and experience do you need to have :
- Knowledge of the site is an advantage
- Retail experience and cash handling is desirable
- Ability to deal with enquiries and complaints in person, via email or phone
- A basic awareness of Countryside issues e.g. rights of way, wildlife
This position is to work at our Shipley Country Park shop and visitors centre.
There may also be occasions when you will be required to work at our Elvaston Castle site.
The role is physically demanding as it includes replenishing deliveries and being on your feet all day.
This role is fixed term until 31st March 2026.
Provisional Interview date: 16 July 2025
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
