An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our relief staff pool at Shipley Country Park shop and visitor centre.
This vacancy is a zero hours contract, providing cover for holidays/sickness and busy trading times.
The shop is open 7 days a week.
Hours of work when on relief are 9.45am to 4.15pm.
There will also be occasions when relief shifts at Elvaston Castle in Derby are required
What will I be doing:
You will support the operation of the Visitor Centre, selling items and providing information and advice to countryside visitors, providing a positive image of the council and promoting customer care.
What skills and experience do you need:
Site knowledge is an advantage
Retail experience, including cash handling is desirable
Ability to deal with enquiries and complaints
A basic awareness of Countryside issues e.g. wildlife, rights of way
The role is physically demanding as it includes replenishing deliveries and being on your feet all day.
Provisional Interview Date: 9 July 2025
The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
