Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the White Hall activity team as an Outdoor Activity Instructor, completing an Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship with Derbyshire County Council.
The White Hall Activity Team are responsible for the delivery of outdoor education packages for Derbyshire young people.
You will help to deliver high quality outdoor education to young people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds through a range of adventurous on and offsite outdoor activities.
You will work with an experienced team and will receive day to day support from a workplace buddy and mentor as well as further support from Channel Training, our apprenticeship training provider.
After successfully completing the apprenticeship, you may be eligible to join the White Hall team as a full-time or relief level 1 Outdoor Activity Instructor, provided the relevant prerequisites are met.
We are looking for enthusiastic people with a genuine passion for the outdoors and working with young people. Applicants should possess the necessary drive to develop their outdoor experience and qualifications, both in and outside of work time.
What skills and experience will you need? Any experience or knowledge of rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, paddlesports, bushcraft or hiking is desirable but not essential.
Any necessary qualifications or training will be provided by White Hall.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is useful.

Annual leave entitlement is based on the grade of role you are appointed to.
Applicants must be 18+ on 30 March 2026. There is no upper age limit.
All offers of employment are provisional and candidates will be required to complete an initial assessment with the learning provider, prior to starting the apprenticeship to determine its suitability.
Candidates with either significant work experience in a similar environment or who hold a level 3 (or higher) qualification in a related sector subject area may not be eligible.
