Killamarsh Infant and Nursery School would like to appoint a new School Business Officer (SBO) from September 2025. 

The successful candidate should be self- motivated, highly organised and a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our hardworking team.

You will be required to deliver high quality, administrative and finance support and perform reception duties. You will be the first point of contact within our school and will be communicating directly with pupils, parents, staff and other agencies, so the ability to build good relationships with our stakeholders is crucial. The newly appointed person will work as part of a close team and be a friendly, welcoming face to parents and pupils. 

Applicants must have proven literacy and numeracy skills and be highly proficient in a range of IT systems and packages. You will need a secure knowledge of MIS systems; ordering resources and the processing of invoices. In addition you should be experienced in processing contracts for staff, making adjustments; recording additional hours and processing sickness absences. 

Importantly the SBO is responsible for monitoring the school budget; preparing forecasts and accounts for governors and the headteacher; producing budget monitoring reports and provide advice and guidance to leaders on the impact of financial decisions.

The ideal candidate will have high communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and above all the ability to prioritise workload and be adaptable.Having a flexible approach and a positive attitude is an essential aspect of the job. 

The post involves dealing with personal information and sensitive data, therefore maintaining confidentiality at all times is an essential part of the role.

The post is for 32.5 weeks per year (8.30am – 3.45pm) Mon- Fri.
