We are looking for an organised and dedicated individual to join our team as a Business Services Assistant within Derbyshire County Council’s Commissioning and Contracts team. If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
As a Business Services Assistant, you will provide vital administrative support to the Compliance Officers within the Commissioning and Contracts Team. You’ll work closely with transport operators and internal colleagues to collect and manage key compliance information, ensuring our contracted services meet the Council’s standards.
Your work will help maintain high-quality, safe transport for children and vulnerable adults across Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily administrative support to the Compliance Officers, ensuring accurate and timely information flow.
- Liaise with transport operators to request and verify compliance documentation, including DBS certificates, ID badges and training records.
- Manage and update large databases and records to ensure all contractor and driver details are current and compliant.
- Respond promptly and professionally to queries from contractors and internal teams.
- Support in monitoring contract performance and escalate concerns where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an administrative or compliance-related role, ideally within a busy, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle large volumes of data accurately.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with external contractors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with databases or record management systems.
- Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and information governance requirements.
