The Headteacher and Governors wish to appoint an excellent SENCO to join our friendly, hardworking team from October 2026. 

We are looking for someone with experience in SEN leadership in Early Years and KS1 who has proven impact on the teaching and learning of children. We are looking for someone who can bring knowledge of effective practice and a high level of professionalism to our school. 

We are looking for an SENCO who: 

  • Values our children’s safety and wellbeing and take pride in their achievements.
  • Can inspire children in their learning and provides support to other adults to deliver at the same high standard.
  • Can coach, support, and line-manage staff including holding them to account for their practice and provision
  • Has high level organisational qualities and is efficient in meeting deadlines
  • Seeks to effectively support every child in reaching their full potential in the role of strategic lead for special educational needs.
  • Has experience in teaching and assessing children, planning, delivering and monitoring effective interventions.
  • Provides a calm and measured professional approach and is able to give an objective view.
  • Can build strong relationships with children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community.
  • Participates fully in all aspects of school life. 

Successful competition of the National Award for SENCO is essential to support our school to move forward. A commitment to complete ongoing training is required.
