Deputy Headteacher at Pilsley Primary School (Chesterfield)

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our Primary & Nursery School rated “Good” by Ofsted in March 2024.

Due to the retirement of our current Assistant Headteacher in July 2026, the governing body is looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher in what will be a new role for the school from 1st September 2026. This role would suit an experienced middle leader and outstanding teacher who is ready for the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will, under the direction of the Headteacher, take a major role in:

  • Providing professional leadership for the school which secures its success and fosters a culture of continual improvement
  • Improving standards of learning and ensuring good levels of progress through the delivery of high quality education for all pupils

 

They will be:

  • An exemplary inclusive classroom practitioner, capable of demonstrating a range of learning styles and with experience across Key stage(s)
  • Passionate about overall improvement, with a willingness to share their expertise and learning.
  • Able to work honestly, collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues, adding a fresh dimension to a talented team.

The Deputy Headteacher we appoint can expect to:
