The Local Trust Committee at Woodthorpe CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated classroom teacher to join our committed team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in line with the National Curriculum, statutory guidance and the school’s strategic vision, while contributing to the wider life of the school. We have high expectations for all learners, and these are underpinned by our strong commitment to relational practice, ensuring every child feels supported, understood and able to achieve their best.

At Woodthorpe, we believe that positive relationships are at the heart of effective learning. Our staff work closely with children and families to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and understood. Teachers are expected to model and embed this approach, supporting children to regulate their emotions, develop resilience and build respectful relationships.

The role involves working alongside another full-time teacher within a mixed-age year group, sharing responsibility for planning, teaching and assessment. You will join a highly supportive team who work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for all children. This position is particularly well suited to an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their career in a school with strong values and excellent professional development.

Our ethos is rooted in our Christian values and underpinned by our vision to “learn and grow together to be the best we can be.” As recognised by Ofsted (March 2023):

“Pupils enjoy attending this inclusive and welcoming school. They say they feel safe and happy because everyone looks after each other… The school’s values help pupils to care for and respect each other.”

We are proud to be part of the Derbyshire Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT), benefiting from strong support, regular school visits and high-quality CPD opportunities.

If you are passionate about making a difference and value strong relationships, we would love to hear from you. For more information, please visit our website: Visit Woodthorpe CE Primary School

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit the school to meet our children and staff and experience our values and relational approach in action.

DDAT welcomes a diverse population of both children and staff and is committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity in all its functions.
