Are you at the start of your teaching journey and looking for a school where you will be truly supported to grow? We are looking for an Early Career Teacher to join our growing school.

At Oak Grange, we don’t just develop children-we develop our staff too. If you are passionate about early years education and want to begin your career in a nurturing, values-driven environment, we would love to hear from you.

About Us

Oak Grange Nursery and Primary School is a growing, vibrant new school in the Boulton Moor/Chellaston area of Derby. Since opening in September 2023, we have been building something very special-a school rooted in kindness, respect and curiosity.

Our vision is simple but powerful:
“Together may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly.”

As a new and expanding school, this is a unique opportunity to begin your career as part of a team shaping something from the ground up.

The Role

We are seeking a Reception Teacher (ECTs warmly encouraged to apply) to join our FS2 team.

You will play a key role in ensuring children feel happy, safe and inspired as they begin their school journey, delivering a rich, play-based curriculum that nurtures both learning and development.

What Makes This Role Ideal for an ECT?

  • A supportive and experienced leadership team who prioritise coaching and development
  • A school culture where questions are welcomed and growth is expected
  • Opportunities to shape practice in a new and evolving setting
  • A strong focus on professional development from day one
  • A collaborative team who will support you every step of the way

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is passionate about working with young children and making a difference
  • Has a strong understanding (or developing understanding) of early years practice
  • Is eager to learn, reflect and develop as a practitioner
  • Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Demonstrates our core values: kindness, respect and curiosity
  • Is excited by the opportunity to grow within a new school community
  • In Return, We Offer:
  • A highly supportive environment for early career teachers
  • Structured mentoring and development opportunities
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing
  • The chance to be part of a founding team shaping a growing school
  • A purpose-built learning environment designed for early years
