Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead our Disability Employment Service. This is a key role within Public Health, offering an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting people with disabilities into meaningful employment.
This is a fixed term opportunity due to a secondment available until March 2030, subject to continued external funding. If funding arrangements change or end earlier than expected, the role may conclude prior to this date
About the role
As Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team delivering high-quality supported employment services. You will provide clear direction, professional supervision and operational oversight, ensuring services meet strategic priorities, quality standards and deliver positive outcomes for individuals.
You will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and development for staff
- Ensure high-quality service delivery aligned to best practice and legislation
- Monitor performance, quality standards and service outcomes
- Contribute to service planning and continuous improvement
- Work closely with employers, partners and community organisations
- Support budget and resource management within your service area
This is a varied and rewarding leadership role, combining operational management with strategic input and partnership working.
About you
We are looking for a confident and skilled leader who is passionate about inclusion and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
You will bring:
- Proven experience of managing and developing teams
- Strong knowledge of disability employment, supported employment or related fields
- Experience of working within quality frameworks and delivering service improvements
- Excellent communication, influencing and partnership-working skills
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems and drive performance
- A commitment to equality, diversity and person-centred approaches
You will also have a relevant degree (or equivalent experience) and strong IT skills.
