An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health department. We are looking to recruit a Service Development Officer to join the Healthcare Public Health and Healthy Ageing Team. The team work closely with health and social care partners to embed public health principles across the system. The focus is on long term conditions, healthy ageing, falls prevention and NHS Health Checks, all underpinned with health literacy.
Current priorities for the team include:
• Contributing to the implementation of the Public Health Strategic Plan.
• Supporting the development of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) by writing key topic summaries and undertaking deep dives of relevant work areas
• Undertaking evaluations of the Falls Prevention Exercise Service and NHS Health Check workplace pilot
• Implementation of the Dementia strategy, leading on dementia risk reduction
• Developing the governance and compliance framework of NHS Health Checks with GP practices
• Embedding Health Literacy across Derbyshire
• Working with system partners to address health inequalities
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and experience of partnership working who will be able to adapt to working across a broad healthcare public health agenda.
The role will initially focus on:
• Supporting the evaluation of the Falls Prevention Exercise Service and NHS Health Check Workplace pilot – this will involve close working with our Knowledge and Intelligence team and service providers
• Supporting the development of communication channels with our wider networks and partners
• Supporting neighbourhood and locality partners to embed Health Literacy
• Focussed work around reducing inequalities in healthcare services
