Are you passionate about reducing health inequalities in our communities through employment? Do you have demonstrable experience of building effective relationships with a variety of partners from both the private and public sector?
Derbyshire County Council Public Health are committed to improving employment opportunities for people with disabilities, long-term health conditions and other complex barriers to employment in Derbyshire. We will be delivering the Connect to Work programme which is aimed at supporting people aged 18+ to achieve paid employment using the Supported Employment Quality Framework model.
This work sits within the Wider Determinants of Health team and supports the development and implementation of work linking to the Council’s Public Health strategy.
Reporting to the Team Manager, the Compliance Officer will support the effective and high‑quality delivery of the Connect to Work programme by ensuring compliance with internal policies, external quality frameworks, and contractual requirements. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, monitoring service standards, and supporting continuous improvement across the service by:
- Assisting with the preparation and checking of participant documentation in line with the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and project procedures.
- Supporting the accurate input, updating, and maintenance of records across service databases and case management systems, in accordance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Helping to collect, track, and update routine performance data, outcomes, and referral information for internal monitoring and reporting.
- Assisting with the preparation of documentation for audits, inspections, and quality assurance activity, under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Supporting referral tracking processes to ensure records are kept up to date and audit trails are maintained.
- Gathering and organising data and evidence required to support routine financial claims and reporting to funders, ensuring information is complete and accurate prior to submission.
- Producing standard spreadsheets, reports, and documents as directed, to support service monitoring and team administration.
- Liaising with internal teams and external partners in relation to routine enquiries, ensuring clear, accurate, and professional communication.
- Organising and maintaining digital and paper filing systems to ensure secure and accessible storage of information.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience providing administrative support ideally within a health, social care, employment support, or similar setting.
- Be able to follow policies, procedures, and set processes to ensure work is completed accurately and consistently.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of data protection, safeguarding, and compliance requirements within public‑facing services.
- Be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams for everyday administrative tasks and record keeping.
- Have good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines with appropriate support.
- Have clear written and verbal communication skills and be able to work cooperatively with colleagues and partner organisations.
- Be able to work as part of a team and independently on routine tasks, with guidance when required.
The post holder will be expected to work from home and travel when needed to meetings and other events. Some travel across other areas of Derbyshire may also be required from time to time.
As a Disability Confident employer, we actively encourage applications from disabled candidates.
If you wish to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Michelle Cartawick, Disability Employment Service Team Manager by email michelle.cartawick@derbyshire.gov.uk
Important: Derbyshire County Council holds a sponsorship licence, but this role does not offer visa sponsorship. Please apply only if you already have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship, as applications that do not meet this requirement will be rejected.
Important Fixed-term Contract Information:
These are fixed‑term posts funded specifically to deliver the Connect to Work programme. Appointments will be made on a fixed‑term basis for up to 4 years, aligned to the duration of the project and the availability of project funding. While postholders will commence employment at the same time, individual contracts may end at different points during the project lifecycle as funding reduces or delivery phases conclude.
The roles exist solely to deliver this defined project and are not part of the organisation’s ongoing, permanent staffing structure. Employment will therefore come to an end when the role’s project funding ceases or the project concludes.
