Derbyshire County Council is seeking an exceptional Head of Communications to lead our dynamic communications team and help bring our Council Plan to life through powerful, people-centred storytelling.

The Role
As Head of Communications, you’ll be the strategic lead for all internal and external communications. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to ensure our messages are clear, consistent, and compelling - helping residents, partners, and colleagues understand and connect with the Council.
You’ll lead a talented team to:
• Craft and deliver engaging campaigns that support the Council Plan
• Champion the voice of our communities and celebrate their stories
• Build trust through transparent, timely, and inclusive communication
• Strengthen our brand and reputation across traditional and digital channels
