We are seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team of Housing specialists, playing a key role in delivering the council's Housing Capital Investment Programme. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking quality control inspections of construction and improvement works, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. 

The role also involves monitoring and enforcing health and safety requirements across a range of complex construction activities, while providing expert technical advice and support throughout the lifecycle of housing improvement projects. 

  • applicants must have a minimum of five years' experience working within the construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality construction, maintenance, or improvement projects
  • strong understanding of current housing issues, relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and construction industry best practice is essential
  • you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective working relationships with contractors, colleagues, residents, and a wide range of stakeholders
  • the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound technical decisions is essential to success in this role
