John Flamsteed Community School is looking to appoint a reliable, proactive and enthusiastic IT Technician to join our dedicated support team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a central role in supporting and developing our school’s IT infrastructure. You will help ensure that both staff and students have seamless access to high-quality technology that enhances teaching, learning and the wider life of the school.

As our IT Technician, you will provide first-line technical support to staff and students, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software and network systems across the site. You will support classroom technology, including interactive displays and AV equipment, assist with the installation of devices and systems and maintain accurate records of IT issues and resolutions. A key part of the role will be ensuring that systems remain secure, up to date and fully compliant with safeguarding and data protection requirements.

We are seeking someone with strong IT knowledge and excellent troubleshooting skills who is organised, methodical and solution-focused. You will need to demonstrate clear communication with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Experience in a school environment would be advantageous but it is not essential.

John Flamsteed Community School is a popular school located in mid-Derbyshire close to Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield and within easy reach of the Peak District.  We are part of the East Midlands Education Trust and work in close partnership with other schools in the Trust.

Students, teachers and support staff alike strive to live by the tagline: Nothing Short of Remarkable.  If you are passionate about technology and want to make a real difference in an educational setting, we would be delighted to hear from you.
