A vacancy has now arisen within the Housing Department for a Temporary Accommodation Officer. This post is working within the Housing Options Team. On a part time basis covering Monday and Tuesday.
The successful applicant will assist the Council in its delivery of duties under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and be responsible for the effective management of the Council’s temporary accommodation.
To be successful you will need:
- To have in-depth knowledge of Homeless legislation. Particularly the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
- Recent proven practical experience of working with vulnerable people.
- Effective communication skills in order to deal, on a face-to-face basis, with tenants and members of the public.
- Experience of holding a caseload and managing tenancies.
- The ability to work as part of a team but also to work alone.
- The ability to work flexibly and a willingness to work out of hours if necessary.
