Working within the Adaptations Team the post holder will be required to carry out a wide range of administrative tasks. The main focus of the role is to organise and administer the mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and Council adaptation requests received into the local authority from initial referral to completion and payment.
You will need a wide range of skills to undertake the duties associated with the role, including communication skills, maintaining and updating digital case management files, liaising with, and where necessary visiting vulnerable applicants in their homes, financial administration including payments, tendering and other day-to-day duties required to fulfil the needs of the role.
You should have:
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- The ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, outside agencies, contractors and other officers of the Council.
- An ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.
The Council does operate a flexible working policy and any arrangements will be in line with the needs of the service. You must have a current driving licence and access to your own vehicle together with access to the internet to support any flexible homeworking.
