About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Finance Operations Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable services across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong operational expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex financial processes within a large organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial governance, driving service improvements, and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice on AP/AR processes, financial controls, audit requirements, and operational efficiencies, while supporting the organisation to deliver value for money and high-quality customer-focused financial services
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the day-to-day operation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing
Overseeing end-to-end purchase-to-pay, billing, collection, and debt management processes
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, audit standards, governance requirements, and internal policies
Maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliations, and audit trails across all AP/AR activity
Managing complex supplier, customer, and operational issues, including dispute resolution with internal and external stakeholders
Producing high-quality financial reports, analysis, and performance information to support decision-making
Monitoring creditor and debtor performance, proactively reducing overdue debt and improving cash flow management
Identifying and implementing process improvements, automation
Opportunities, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce errors
Building effective working relationships across the organisation and with external partners to ensure high service standards
Supporting internal and external audit activity through the provision of accurate data and evidence of robust financial controls
Leading, supporting, and developing team members to deliver high performance and continuous improvement
Collaborating with colleagues across the Finance Directorate to support wider financial planning, risk management, and organisational priorities
What We’re Looking For
Substantial Accounts Payable experience within a complex finance environment
Experience in Accounts Receivable functions and debt management would be advantageous
Experience working within a large or complex organisation would be desirable
Experience managing and resolving complex disputes with internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and resolve discrepancies
Strong understanding of financial regulations, audit requirements, governance, and compliance frameworks
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
Experience improving financial processes, systems, and operational efficiency
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently within established frameworks
Demonstrated ability to lead teams or oversee specialist financial operations functions
AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent professional experience within financial operations
