We’re offering an exciting opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Internal Audit service at Derbyshire County Council.
As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in reviewing and improving the Council’s activities, financial records, and systems. It is a role that give you exposure to the wide variety of Council activities whilst developing and enhancing professional skills. You’ll be helping to ensure strong governance, effective risk management, and robust internal controls across a wide range of services.
We are seeking a forward-thinking individual who embrace the evolving role of internal audit in a digitally enabled environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, with experience in leveraging data to generate insights, identify risks, and support evidence-based decision-making. A proactive approach to adopting new technologies—such as data analytics tools, automation, and AI—is essential, along with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
You will be comfortable navigating complex datasets, collaborating across functions to enhance assurance through digital solutions, and contributing to the development of the Internal Audit service. Strong communication skills, curiosity, and an eye for detail are key, as is the ability to challenge constructively and add value in a dynamic organisational context.
