We’re recruiting Finance Business Partners across multiple departments at Derbyshire County Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking finance team, supporting strategic decision-making and helping shape the future of services across the county.

About the Role

As a Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in delivering expert financial advice, analysis and insight to support departmental objectives and the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, elected Members, and service teams to ensure financial sustainability, value for money, and the protection of public funds.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team, reporting to a Senior Business Partner, and will work across a range of service areas to:
•    Challenge and influence decision-making to achieve the best outcomes for Derbyshire.
•    Support budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting.
•    Lead on financial analysis for service transformation and efficiency improvements.
•    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
•    Provide training and guidance to non-finance colleagues.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking experienced finance professionals who are:
•    Qualified (CCAB or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
•    Skilled in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a large, complex organisation.
•    Confident communicators with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
•    Proactive problem-solvers with a commitment to continuous improvement.
•    Able to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities effectively.
