Highly motivated individual required to join Bolsover District Council’s busy Revenues & Benefits Team.

We are looking to fill a Career Graded Revenues Officer post, with recruitment at the entry level of Trainee Revenues Officer (Grade 3). The successful candidate will undertake, within a team environment, a range of duties relating to the efficient administration of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Benefits and Sundry Debtor functions.
This post has been designed to support progression through the career grade, from Trainee Revenues Officer to Assistant Revenues Officer to Revenues Officer. Progression will be based on the achievement of competencies, skills development and experience.
To be successful you will need:
- Understanding of what the role involves and the type of work carried out;
- Awareness of rules, processes and guidelines, or willingness to learn and follow them;
- Understanding of the importance of good customer service and treating people fairly and with respect;
- Awareness of:
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act
Freedom of Information Act
- A good standard of education (GCSE Maths and English) or equivalent experience;
- Experience of interacting with others in a helpful or supportive way;
- Experience of following instructions or guidance and completing tasks carefully and accurately;
- Experience of working with others as part of a team e.g. through school, group activities, volunteering or work;
- Computer literacy in order to undertake daily duties;
- Ability to communicate clearly with others, both verbally and in writing, including members of the public;
- Ability to ask questions and gather information accurately, following guidance and procedures;
- Ability to organise tasks and manage time, with support where needed;
- Ability to work carefully with attention to detail;
- Ability to deal with routine customer enquiries in a clear and professional manner;
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures consistently;
- Willingness to learn and develop skills;
- The ability to display tact and discretion as the work of the section involves sensitive and confidential information.
