£64,667 - £69,618 plus relocation support

Based Matlock, Derbyshire (with some agile working)

To support this, we have created a new Director post to strengthen our corporate leadership team, with the opportunity to shape and drive a wide-ranging portfolio of corporate initiatives that will underpin the Council’s transformation journey and shapes Derbyshire Dales for the better.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and fellow Directors, you will lead the development and delivery of corporate policy, strategic projects, and performance improvement across the organisation. You will play a key role in coordinating Local Government Reorganisation workstreams, ensuring that change is managed effectively and that services continue to meet the highest standards.

Your remit will span corporate planning, performance management, strategic partnerships, project governance, and risk management. You’ll be a trusted advisor to elected Members and senior officers, providing insight and leadership on matters of strategic importance. You’ll also represent the Council externally, building strong relationships with partners, agencies, and other authorities to enhance our profile and influence.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving performance in a multi-stakeholder environment. You’ll be a confident communicator, a skilled collaborator, and a passionate advocate for innovation and continuous improvement. Your leadership will inspire teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services that reflect our values and ambitions.
