An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a versatile operative to work in the Clean and Green Service which cares for the Green Flag parks and other high use recreational areas.

The position is based at Northwood Depot, Darley Dale. 

The successful candidate will hold a valid driving licence. The operative will be expected to drive a range of vehicles including Transit tippers and panel vans and will be able to do strenuous manual work including digging, sweeping paths, litter picking and emptying of litter bins, leaf removal and grass mowing. 

The operative will undertake a broad range of park, recreation, sports pitch and green space maintenance and development work in accordance with best practice and specified standards set by the Council. Examples include amenity and decorative grass mowing, decorative horticulture, soft landscaping, shrub bed maintenance, fine turf and sports pitch maintenance. The operative will be able to utilise a range of vehicles, plant and equipment, some of which will be of a specialist nature. 

The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory driving assessment. 

The right candidate will be enthusiastic, able to use their own initiative and be comfortable speaking to the public if approached.
