Alfreton Park is a lively, successful special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, with severe and profound learning difficulties. The school has a strong commitment to child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to respect this commitment. 

As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational development of children, particularly those with special educational needs.  

To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom including those around education, physical development, sensory processing and wellbeing. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in short term planning and the management/preparation of resources. 

Your core skills in working with children and special education, combined with your premium skills in teaching, will be essential in enhancing student engagement. Strong communication will further enable you to connect effectively with students and their families. Join us in making a meaningful impact on young learners' lives.

The successful candidates must be prepared to work across the school and must be flexible and available to work
08.30 – 15:45.
