Grange Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at Grange Primary School. This post will initially be based in Year 4 and there may be scope to extend this role for a further year.

We are looking for someone who:
- is energetic, creative and passionate about learning and development.
- is an excellent practitioner who has high expectations and aspirations for all children.
- has previous experience, skills and the relevant qualifications to effectively support SEND children in their early stages of learning and development
- is able to draw on a bank of prior skills and knowledge to effectively support children in their next steps in learning and development.
- Has a comprehensive knowledge of alternative forms of communication and experience of working with pre-verbal children.
- has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a great sense of humour.
- contributes to the overall aims and ethos of our school.
This position is mainly classroom based, under the direction of a class teacher, supporting a child to access the Year 4 curriculum by modelling and adapting the learning tasks as appropriate. You may also be expected to lead interventions both 1:1 and in small group situations that have been planned by the class teacher. On occasion, you may be required to participate in meetings that concern the educational provision for the children you support.
We welcome applications from teaching assistants who have had previous experience supporting children with SEND. Applicants will be able to demonstrate their passion for SEND and be able to clearly articulate the impact and importance of both high-quality teaching and access to the curriculum for SEND children.
