We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to work one to one with a child with an EHCP in Year 2. You will need to be a kind and nurturing person who is able to work as part of our dedicated school.
The successful candidate will work 5 days a week during school term time from 8.45am – 3.15pm You will be working as part of the team in Year 2 and will work alongside the teacher and our SENDCo to ensure we are meeting the child’s needs and working on their targets.
Experience and Skills we are looking for:
- Someone who can work as part of a team.
- Someone who can use their initiative.
- Someone who can work 1:1 or in small groups with a child/ren with SEND.
- Someone who has experience of children with ASD and the need for sensory play.
- Someone who has experience of communication aids e.g. Makaton, sign language or has a willingness to learn these.
- Someone who is patient and understanding of a child’s needs.
- Someone who can bring learning to life, making it fun and engaging.
- Someone who can communicate effectively with the child, parents, colleagues and outside agencies.
