Hathersage St Michael’s Primary School are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Play worker to support the successful running of our newly established After School Club.

We are looking for someone nurturing who brings enthusiasm and creativity to the role. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, has a positive and flexible approach, and is excited by the opportunity to contribute to a lively wraparound care setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervise children and prepare creative and appropriate play opportunities for them.

Ensure play materials and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.

Support with home work and additional learning which meets the needs of the child.

Assist children with personal care needs where appropriate and support children when eating breakfast or snack.

Assist in ensuring the safety of children during fire drills, emergencies or incidents and administer first aid if qualified.

Ensure the play area is cleaned and tidied at the end of each session.

Record and report safeguarding concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.

Ensure the safe arrival and departure of children attending the club.

Promote positive attitudes and work as part of a team to support the smooth running of the club.

Encourage children to participate in a range of fun, creative, educational and active play opportunities indoors and outdoors.

Deal with immediate difficulties or report any difficulties unable to overcome to a more senior colleague.

Help create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children.
