The Governing Body at Alfreton Nursery School wish to appoint a positive and enthusiastic person to join our team.

Our outstanding Nursery is expanding to open it doors to two year olds from September 2025, increasing our places from 65 to 75 children per session

We are a nurturing, inclusive, and vibrant Nursery School rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to ensure every child thrives in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment.

We are looking for a caring and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to support our youngest learners during the lunchtime period. This is a key role in promoting children’s wellbeing, independence, and social skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise children during lunch, encouraging good table manners and healthy eating.
  • Assist younger children with opening containers, cutting food, and clearing up.
  • Monitor and manage children’s behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy
  • Supervising toileting, handwashing, and hygiene routines.
  • Provide basic first aid and report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate staff.
  • Report any concerns regarding child welfare to the designated safeguarding lead
  • Ensuring children are safe, happy, and engaged.
  • Assisting with minor accidents and comforting children when needed.
  • Organize and supervise play activities to promote positive social interaction

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with young children and understands their needs.
  • Is calm, patient, and kind with a sense of humour.
  • Has good communication skills and works well in a team.
  • Is reliable and punctual.
  • Has relevant experience (preferred, but not essential – training provided).
