At Longstone CE Primary School, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Assistant to support teaching and learning within our nurturing school community, to start September 2026.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will play a key role in helping our children to Nurture, Ignite and Shine

You will assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, supporting individuals and small groups to reach their full potential within Early Years and Key Stage 1. The role involves preparing resources, promoting positive behaviour, and providing targeted support for pupils. 

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in Early Years and/or Year 1, who understand the importance of early development, play-based learning, and supporting children in the transition into more structured learning. 

As part of our team, you will contribute to creating a calm, caring and inspiring environment where every child feels supported, valued and ready to learn. We are looking for someone who is patient, organised and compassionate, with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s educational and personal development. 

The hours for this role are 8.30am – 3.45pm, for 4 or 5 days a week. This can be discussed further at interview.

  • Show flexibility, initiative and good organisational skills
