Five Temporary Posts – Full or part-time hours available (minimum 0.6fte)

Opportunities have arisen to join this friendly dynamic team, consisting of around 30 Educational Psychologists within the beautiful county of Derbyshire. We are looking for talented colleagues to bring their enthusiasm and skills to the service and embrace our core values of curiosity, integrity, collaboration, and empathy.

Derbyshire Educational Psychology Service works across the county providing educational psychology support for schools and settings from Glossop in the north to Swadlincote in the south, and bordering South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester. This makes the county an accessible place to work from many areas, with some attendance at the office base also being required.

Derbyshire EPs have positive and well-established relationships within the local authority, and our professional contributions are valued by partner agencies.

The child-centred and holistic approach to our work ensures strong working relationships with educational settings and parents. We use listening skills, an optimistic outlook and psychological insight to problem solve and make a difference. We are valued for the impact of the high-quality casework, training, therapeutic work, systems work and research which we carry out to enable positive change and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

We are a strong, supportive team, with professional autonomy. The service provides a comprehensive induction process to ensure a warm welcome to all new starters. Successful candidates will enjoy excellent CPD opportunities, access to regular supervision, opportunities to engage in projects, and dedicated administrative support. We also offer support to prepare for the application process for the professional training course.

We have 5.0fte full-time and part-time hours available for a fixed term of up to thirty-six months as these are three-year grant-funded posts.

Applications are welcome from psychology graduates with additional experience working with children/young people in schools or other settings and who are hoping to go on to train as an Educational Psychologist in the future. The hours of the posts are flexible, and a job share is possible. The posts will be located in our Chesterfield, Buxton or Denby/ Heanor offices.

If you would like to find out more about the service or to arrange to meet colleagues from one of the bases (by Teams) please email one of our Senior EPs to request a discussion or call on 01629 533815 and the admin team will put you through to an available SEP.
