The academy provides education to pupils from Reception to year 11 if they are permanently excluded or, sometimes in special circumstances, those who are at risk of exclusion. The academy has undergone significant growth since 2022 to meet the needs of the Local Authority. We have 3 sites throughout the north of Derbyshire.
To provide literacy support and intervention to pupils who are disaffected and/or have behavioural, emotional, social and learning difficulties, and enable them to improve their literacy skills. The primary focus will be to baseline assess a pupil’s literacy ability and support their development with various strategies including phonics, reading for pleasure, oracy and writing skills. The role may be varied and involve on site and also off- site intervention in pupils homes where appropriate.
