Head of Service – Localities (Erewash & Chesterfield) Children’s Services | Leadership & Management
Derbyshire County Council is recruiting for two pivotal Head of Service roles within our Localities team, supporting the Erewash and Chesterfield teams. If you are an experienced leader passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people, we want to hear from you!
About the Roles: As Head of Service, you will lead operational services in either Erewash or Chesterfield, ensuring children and young people receive the support they need to stay safe and thrive. You will:
- Oversee safeguarding and support for vulnerable children.
- Shape and deliver services tailored to local needs.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Manage budgets, workforce development, and partnership arrangements.
- Promote early intervention and collaborative working.
What We’re Looking For:
- Senior managerial experience in children’s services, including safeguarding and partnership working.
- Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.
- Social Worker qualification with Social Work England registration (essential).
