An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award-winning Derbyshire Catering Service, where we take pride in serving nutritious, high-quality meals and creating positive lunchtime experiences for our customers.
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Supervisor to lead our kitchen team at Christchurch Primary School, Tapton View Road, Chesterfield S41 7JU. This is a key role where you will oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, service and the completion of clerical tasks using a digital management system.
Health, safety and food hygiene are at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in line with food hygiene and health and safety regulations, helping to provide a safe, welcoming environment for both pupils and staff.
As this role is based within a school setting, it is essential that you can demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and an understanding of the importance of creating enjoyable lunchtime memories for children.
The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent relevant experience, along with a sound knowledge of health and safety requirements. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 is essential.
Starting salary within the grade is negotiable and will reflect your current salary, experience and qualifications.
If you are passionate about food, enjoy leading a team and want to make a real difference to children’s daily school experience, we would love to hear from you.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
