We are looking for a 16 hour Cook to join our team.  👩‍🍳

We are looking to recruit a Cook 👩‍🍳to work at Ada Belfield a 40 bedded Residential Home for Older Adults, and a cafeteria with 30+ covers which is open to the public. The post holder will have the responsibility for all aspects of work in our busy kitchen.

The ideal candidate will be part of the Catering team that provide high quality freshly prepared food to meet individual’s nutritional and dietary needs and promote the café as a vibrant community resource.

Duties will include all general kitchen duties, food preparation, cooking, service, monitoring, and recording, serving customers, using the till, making up the table orders.

You must be able to work within strict policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and meal provision.

You will need to demonstrate an all-round catering experience and have good communication skills. Working to support specialist dietary requirements, it is essential that potential candidates possess an awareness of portion and cost control as well as giving priority to presentation and being customer focused. Experience of preparing and cooking meals is essential and ideally you will have previous experience of cooking for large groups, in particular older adults whereby nutritional and hydration requirements are of paramount importance and knowledge of special dietary requirements is advantageous.

To apply you will be ideally qualified to City & Guilds 706/1 level/NVQ Level II or have relevant experience, with a sound knowledge of Health and Safety and possess a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. The candidate must have excellent communication and customer service skills.

You must be able to work flexible from 8am till 4pm over seven days which includes week ends and bank holiday.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
