White Hall Outdoor Education Centre is seeking a reliable and dedicated relief caretaker to join our facilities team. As a Grade 4 Relief Caretaker, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our centre, ensuring a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and young people.

Responsibilities:

  • - Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas within the Centre, including accommodation, and communal spaces.
  • - Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to maintain the safety and functionality of the premises.
  • - Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any stock shortages.
  • - Support the setup and takedown of equipment for activities and events.
  • - Assist with site security, including opening and locking buildings and monitoring access.
  • - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any hazards or incidents.
  • - Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the smooth running of the centre.
  • - Participate in evening and weekend duties as required.

Requirements:

  • - Experience in caretaking, cleaning, or facilities maintenance.
  • - Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • - Ability to carry out manual tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
  • - Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • - Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • - Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
