Join Our Management Team in Bennerley Fields Community Support Bed Unit!
We’re recruiting for 3 Deputy Unit Managers (1 part time and 2 full time) to support leading our high-quality community support bed service at Bennerley Fields in Ilkeston.
Our Community Support Beds are 24/7 regulated services which offer short-term assessment and reablement/ rehabilitation to people, helping people to regain confidence and maximise their independence, in order to return home wherever possible. They are used to support people leaving hospital, requiring an urgent community response or who would benefit from reablement in a bedded care setting.
Our units are supported by skilled multi-disciplinary teams from health and social care. You would be providing leadership to the care team and working closely alongside other health and social care professionals and leaders to deliver a high quality effective service in this fast-paced environment.
Daily roles are likely to include:
- Triaging referrals
- Admitting and discharging people into the unit
- Providing supervision and support for care staff in the unit
- Being an active member of the units MDT
- Support the monitoring and continuous review of the quality and performance in the unit (ensuring compliance)
The services are going through an exciting period of change over 2025-2026 and need excellent and innovative leaders who are passionate about improving services for people in Derbyshire. Following a public consultation, including feedback from health partners, the council is moving to a new model of care to ensure the council can support the future care and support needs of the people of Derbyshire. As part of improving integration between health and social care, you will be involved in transitioning the service to deliver support within a new partnership between Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
