Executive Assistant
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Executive Assistant within the Member and Management Support Service to support an Executive Director. The post is on a 12 month fixed term basis to cover maternity.
You will provide proactive and efficient support and be responsible for the effective day to day management and organisation of the activities and business of the senior leaders of the council.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is dynamic, innovative and who has previous experience of working in a similar role.
Key responsibilities:
- Proactively managing the office of the senior leaders, maximising their capacity by providing high level executive support, managing busy schedules and ensuring the proactive, efficient and effective running of day-to-day business in a fast-paced political environment.
- Full provision of high-level executive support including proactive and complex diary management, organisation of high-level meetings and large-scale events, preparation of briefs and management of correspondence.
- Progress areas of work for the senior leaders such as proactively planning and managing projects, monitoring their progression/project plans and co‑ordinating/liaising with senior managers as appropriate.
- Independently producing draft briefing papers, reports, creating and presenting complex information and preparing other documents to high standards and tight deadlines, including carrying out detailed information gathering and developing proposals.
- Manage and develop the PA support function for a dedicated area to ensure an efficient and effective service.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- Be enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Confidence to work under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously and be politically astute.
- Education to degree level or business-related Level 5 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
