Who?
We have an opportunity to join our busy team either as a Democratic Services Officer or a Trainee Democratic Services Officer, depending on your experience.
Democratic Services ensures the Council’s democratic decision-making functions are carried out in an effective, transparent and legally compliant manner.
What will you be doing?
• Preparing agendas, minutes and other written records
• Arranging meetings and advising on procedure including school admissions appeals
• Assisting elected members with a wide range of queries
• Delivering projects to support the service
What do you need?
• High attention to detail, working quickly and accurately to tight deadlines
• Methodical approach and ability to handle several concurrent tasks
• Familiarity with technology and IT systems
• Friendly and approachable manner, confidence in speaking to a wide variety of people
• Motivated by providing a good service
• For consideration for the Democratic Services Officer post you will also need recent experience as a Democratic Services Officer or similar
The team is based at County Hall, Matlock and there will be a need to attend regular committee meetings, which all take place during the working day. This role offers hybrid working options which will be to subject service needs, there'll be an opportunity to discuss working arrangements for this position at interview.
