An exciting opportunity have arisen within the Business Services Team for committed and flexible individuals to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Headquarters Team.

 You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants. The role is varied, fast-paced and requires the ability to work as part of a team to meet deadlines.

What does a Business Services Assistant in the Headquarters Team do?

 A Business Services Assistant within the Headquarters Team plays a key role in supporting the delivery of essential services, particularly in relation to Blue Badge applications. The team is responsible for processing both new and renewal applications, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately assessed and recorded in line with established procedures.

The role involves regular liaison with both internal departments and external clients and professionals, providing guidance, requesting additional information where required, and ensuring a smooth and efficient application process.

A significant part of the work is carried out using a range of internal IT systems, including case management systems such as Mosaic, alongside the handling of paper-based applications within an office environment. The team also manages “Tell Us Once” notifications, updating records and ensuring that changes in client circumstances are appropriately reflected across systems.

In addition, the role includes financial responsibilities, such as processing payments or refunds, and working within set financial procedures using designated systems to ensure compliance with organisational guidelines.

The Headquarters Team works collaboratively with Call Derbyshire, helping to provide a joined-up service and ensuring that clients receive consistent support and information.

Overall, the role requires strong communication skills, organisational skills, accuracy, teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Working arrangements in the Headquarters Team

While the role provides flexibility, you are required to attend the office for a minimum of one day per week. Weekly arrangements may vary, and flexibility to work in the office when required is essential. The team are based at County Hall, Matlock.

Our working hours are between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. The preferred working pattern for this role is Wednesday to Friday, although flexibility can be considered.

  • Confident in using ICT and bespoke systems.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to our service changes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team undertaking a wide range of administrative duties.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret information and analyse data.
  • Be able to assist and support with streamlining processes.
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection.
  • Previous financial experience would be beneficial.
  • Enthusiasm and transferable skills.
