About the role

The position of School Business Assistant will be based at Taddington and Priestcliffe C of E Primary School. As a small school, the contribution of each staff member is invaluable, and we are committed to ensuring that every position within our team supports our core mission: fostering a nurturing environment for teaching and learning for all our children and their families. The existing Federation school business professionals at our other schools are committed to supporting the newly appointed SBO to ensure a smooth transition into our team.

There will also be 6 meetings per year for the role of Clerk to Governors. These will take place between the hours of 5:00PM-6:30PM

The role of a School Business Officer, while primarily clerical and administrative, requires a candidate who embodies our warm, caring ethos and demonstrates a genuine commitment to being a team player. We believe it is crucial that our next School Business Assistant not only excels in their administrative duties but also understands the significance of their position within the wider context of our school community.

We are seeking an individual ideally who has worked within a school admin role previously and who will promote our values and exhibit a sense of 'otherness'—someone who goes beyond the basic requirements of the role and is willing to adapt and be flexible to meet the diverse needs of our school.

We believe that the right candidate will enrich our educational environment, enabling us to continue providing exceptional support and guidance to our students and their families. Our community thrives on collaboration and a shared commitment to the educational journey of every child, and we are confident that this role will play a vital part in that mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing administrative tasks, such as maintaining school records and handling correspondence.
  • Managing the school Parent Pay system
  • Writing letters to parents, and managing school communication systems including the school website and email/text correspondence
  • Maintaining and updating the school Single Central Record
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and other statutory requirements.
  • Administering medicines to children

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in administrative roles (school experience is highly advantageous)
  • Experienced in financial management, budgetary planning and control
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and Google Forms, Docs and Sheets
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
  • Passionate about contributing to the success of our school community.
  • Keen to support children as well as successfully balancing their clerical/ administrative roles.

What We Offer:

  • A warm and supportive working environment rooted in Christian values.
  • A chance to play a key role in a thriving school.
  • Support and mentorship from a network of Business Assistants across the Federation

Join us at Taddington and Priestcliffe Primary  School and be part of a team dedicated to shaping the future of our children and the community.
