The Governors and Headteacher of Corfield CofE Infant School wish to appoint a School Business Assistant (Clerk to Governors) who is efficient, motivated and organised to join our wonderful school.  

This is a key role supporting our Local Governing Board in the strategic management and development of our school. 

The purpose of the clerk's role is to: 

Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. 

Provide effective administrative support to the governing board and its committees. 

Ensure the governing board is properly constituted. 

Manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements. 

Take minutes, circulate reports, prepare agendas, prepare letters, correspond with the school community as necessary and other specific duties for which close liaison with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors is essential. 

A willingness to work flexibly is required as the workload is variable as the post holder would need to attend at least 6 evening meetings per academic year. The weekly hours may vary dependant on workload.

Knowledge of how schools and governing boards operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work but full training can be provided.
