Project Support Officers – Local Bus: Two Posts

We are seeking to recruit two experienced Project Support Officers to join the Local Bus section on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.  They will contribute to the successful transition of the Council’s passenger transport functions to the new East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) and they will support senior managers and relevant bus leads to deliver the transitional arrangements.

The Project Support Officers will also coordinate and support routine work plans, financial payment processing, contract management and responding to complaints and enquires, to support the delivery of business as usual, as well as report on data and measures to assist with the EMCCA transition.

The postholders will have experience of project support/management, with knowledge and experience of contributing to developing project plans and service delivery, including preparation of monitoring reports and financial data.  We are seeking people with the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to work flexibly across the various Public Transport teams and diversify to different service requirements as the business requires
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build relationships and influence others
  • The ability to work independently to deliver tasks within agreed timescales and resources
  • Knowledge and experience of financial processes and payment systems
  • A distinct advantage would be a sound awareness and knowledge of public transport functions.

This role is based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but as part of our Modern Ways of Working programme we are currently working on a hybrid basis.  There will be a requirement to come into Matlock, Derbyshire on 1-2 days per week. There'll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
