Join our successful, passionate, and dedicated teaching team. Our success can be attributed to excellent conditions for learning, high-quality CPD, and manageable workloads within a collegiate, driven, and exciting learning environment.
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Physical Education and BTEC Sport to join our talented team in delivering a high-quality curriculum for our students and contribute to our strong extra-curricular programme.
Parkside Community School is a good school with sustained improvement over time. In 2022 the school achieved a progress 8 score of +0.61, following a score of +0.59 in 2019 when performance figures were last published. This makes Parkside the highest achieving school in Derbyshire for progress in three of the last four years in which performance figures have been published. The performance of students in PE and BTEC Sport has been a standout significant strength of the school, even within this high-performing context.
This is an exciting time to join Parkside Community School. We are proud of our students’ academic achievements but are equally concerned with their development as young people able to make a positive contribution to their communities and the world. We are looking for a teacher that is able to contribute to our work in securing further improvements in all that we do.
The successful candidate is expected to teach PE at both Key Stage 3 and 4 across the whole ability range. The successful candidate will have a track record of successful teaching practice, underpinned by a broad base of pedagogical content knowledge. In addition, we are seeking candidates with the ability to engage, enthuse and motivate our students to achieve their potential and to learn the value of participation in sport and physical activity through the taught curriculum and through participation in extra-curricular activities.
