Required for September 2023

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and innovative teacher of mathematics to join our experienced department to cover maternity leave. The school would welcome applications from NQTs as well as experienced teachers.

Highfields is a vibrant, popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form.  We are a spilt site school situated in Matlock, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District and within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham. Our students are friendly and highly motivated. We were judged as a good school by Ofsted in May 2017 and are committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.

We are at an exciting stage of our development and this is a great opportunity to make a strong contribution to the life of the school. Our core purpose is to be an inclusive, happy community that values every individual and inspires them to achieve their full potential.

We wish to appoint a talented colleague who:

  • A strong background in Maths, ideally with experience of teaching to A level
  • A passion for teaching, and a track record as a highly effective classroom practitioner
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • A commitment to professional development
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
