We are looking to recruit an experienced and inspiring teacher to join our academy to teach our personal social development programme to pupils in KS3 and KS4. This consists of PSHRE, Citizenship, careers and basic ICT skills. Pupils will achieve ASDAN Short courses and ICT Digital Functional Skills. The staffing teams are small compared to mainstream schools and the post will suit a teacher who is willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the pupils and the academy.  Both secondary Chesterfield sites will have approximately 110 pupils on roll and classes sizes are small with around 10 pupils. This role will be based at one of the 2 Chesterfield secondary sites.  We welcome applications from candidates who are able to teach engaging and inspiring lessons to challenging and disengaged KS3 and 4 pupils.

Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box. You will be responsible for contributing to a small staffing team to ensure that the site runs smoothly. A growth mindset and positive ethos are essential characteristics that we are looking for.

An allocated base will be named for payment of mileage and any travel calculation between sites for CPD or for engaging in off -site rewards trips etc. Candidates must have access to a car and business insurance included. All staff may be expected to transport pupils at times in their own cars. This is a full time role.
