Creswell Junior School is an inspirational place to learn and work.  We are a supportive and close-knit team who collaboratively work in harmony with our parents/carers, children and the wider community to ensure that our children receive the educational experiences they deserve.  Our culture has the well-being and success of our children, families and team at the heart of everything we do.  Within our nurturing environment, we uphold the highest educational standards, ensuring that every child realise their full potential.

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated KS2 teacher, to cover maternity leave, whose commitment and ethos align with our own.  While we are a junior school, experience in EYFS and KS1 would be advantageous, as we are looking for expertise to adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of all our children. In turn, we are committed to ensuring that you flourish.  Our professional offer, to all our teachers within our organisation, is clearly defined and reinforces that pledge.  We invest in our most value resource, our teaching team, to encourage professional growth and fulfilment.

Our professional offer includes:

  • Staff meetings held every two weeks, each with a teaching and learning focus.
  • Continuous professional development.
  • The retention of small classes (most classes host between 20 and 25 children).
  • Weekly planning and support meetings with your teaching team.
  • Schemes purchased for every subject in our curriculum, ensuring that time is spent enhancing already high-quality planning, rather than reinventing the wheel.
  • The employment of a Spanish teacher, to avoid hours spent researching and practising a specialist skill (and to ensure our children have the best introduction to MFL’s).
  • After-school clubs run by qualified, specialised coaches.

The commencement date for this post will be Monday 23rd February 2026 and while we expect the substantive teacher to return from maternity leave during the final term of the academic year, we will commit to employing the successful candidate until Friday 17th July 2026.

If you feel that you are the talented professional we are looking for, we would urge you to visit our inspirational school (and browse our website).  To make an appointment please call 01909 721260.

Please ensure all applications are submitted by Sunday 18th January 2026.

Interview date: Thursday 22nd January 2026.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
